Yoga is not about how flexible you are; it is about stretching your body and spine to increase your flexibility. I’ve never done yoga before! What type of class should I take?
Come, come! It is natural to feel nervous when beginning something new. Yoga is for all body types, fitness and flexibility levels. It may even cure your ailments!
Hot Yoga is the same sequence each class 26 postures repeated twice with rests in between.
Power Vinyasa is upper body weight bearing and allows the teacher creative license to develop their own sequence.
All of our teachers would love to have you in class. During your unlimited month, try and take the class of as many different teachers as possible. That way, you can see whose teaching style suits your practice. You might be surprised!
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that is breathable.
What should I bring?
Bring yourself and a willingness to learn. Bring a yoga mat, bottle of water and a large towel. But these are also available to purchase and rent in the studio. Bring an extra towel and change of clothes if you plan to shower.

Why is the room heated?
Heat is used in yoga in order to allow you to work deeper and safer, seeing faster results. It also eliminates the risk of injuries, promotes sweating, and helps you release the toxins in your body, giving you a wonderful glow from head to toe. Each pose stretches and strengthens your muscles, joints, and ligaments and at the same time releases toxins and works on your internal organs such as the glands and the nervous system
How hot are the classes?
Hot Yoga classes are heated to about 105º with 40% humidity and Power Vinyasa classes are heated to 95º with 50% humidity.
How many days a week should I do yoga?
Yoga can be practiced daily unlike other forms of exercise where you should rest in between workouts. The more you practice, the more results you will see. Ideally, three or more times a week, but any practice is better than none. Come see for yourself.
Can I eat and drink before class?
Like with any moderate physical activity, it’s best to fuel up in advance. Ideally, you will be practicing on an empty stomach and will refuel after class. Drink plenty of water before class.
What if I have pre-existing injuries?
Practice to your own ability and listen to your body. Inform the teacher before class about any conditions you have. Feel free to talk to us after class or call with specific questions. You may even see improvement through regular practice.
What if I feel faint or nauseous during class?
It is normal to feel dizzy, faint or nauseous during your first classes as you acclimate to the heat. Simply lie down and breathe. These feelings will pass.
Is Hot Yoga a cardiovascular workout?
Hot Yoga is a great cardiovascular workout. Many of the postures are specifically designed to improve cardiovascular output, stimulating metabolism and burning fat.
Will yoga help me lose weight?
A regular yoga practice can promote weight loss.

Is it okay to take yoga if I have arthritis or other health conditions?
Pain can be relieved through a regular yoga practice. Heated classes can increase flexibility and loosen stiff muscles and joints. If you’re comfortable doing so, let your teacher know about your health conditions before class so they can provide appropriate modifications for you.
Where can I put my belongings during class?
We have changing rooms and cubbies for your things during class. Cell phones and personal items other than your mat, towel and water are not to come into the hot room. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items at the studio.
